When you get old you stop being able to get a Young Persons Railcard. But I recently discovered that doesn't matter, as anyone can get a Network Rail Card. More or less the same, apart from a minimum fare of £10 on weekdays and it only works in the south (but then who would want to go up north??).

mind you, if i commit myself, and book in advance, I can get to london for under a tenner ;-)

this probably relies on me taking a day off work to travel off peak though
